Family assistance levels should be increased and more equitably tied to the rising cost of living. We support an individual right to childcare for all children, regardless of whether both parents work or not.

A child has the right to be with both parents, and UCP’s objective is parental equality. The parental leave system should be developed to ensure both parents have a share of leave. The parental leave period should be extended until the child reaches one year.
