Democracy serves a dual purpose: the affirmation of the majority and the protection of minorities and the vulnerable. We endorse democratic pathways for exercising power. It's also about citizen participation in the management of public life while upholding freedoms, justice, fairness, and tolerance.
Our values from A - Z
Water
Water security is a crucial issue. At UCP, we have established a monitoring unit for water challenges because several current and forthcoming tensions stem from this vital resource. UCP places utmost importance on developing a national strategy to optimize resources and enhance water capacities in the short, medium, and long term.
Employment
Our goal is full employment. Everyone should have the opportunity for full-time employment that guarantees them a decent and fair wage. Part-time or intermittent work should be a personal choice of the employee, not something imposed upon them. The labor market should become more flexible for workers. Enhancing the work environment and achieving a better work-life balance is not only an important objective but also a crucial means for enabling workers to remain productive throughout their careers.
Business
Businesses focused on growth and innovation should be supported and encouraged. Long-term economic policy should be favorable to enterprises and entrepreneurial spirit. We aim to bolster entrepreneurship, particularly by enhancing social security during startup phases and initial years. By mitigating the initial risks of entrepreneurship, we provide more individuals with the opportunity to establish their own businesses and guide them, while also promoting innovation and employment.
